the state government of imo state,is Determined and standing firm to start the reconstruction building of discipline and stopping crime, the Imo State government yesterday officially announced the banning of handsets,also known as mobile phones, used by all primary and secondary school children in the state,with hope in mind to build and train up more discipline children.
The state Commissioner for Education,
Prof. Adaobi Obasi disclosed this while speaking with some journalists at the state- owned Imo Broadcasting Corporation (IBC), Owerri.
“Government will ensure the enforcement of the ban to the letter,” she said, warning parents, teachers and guardians to take note of the ban.because there's no excuse for been ignorant,
According to her, the state government of imo state has screened 2,235 persons involved in the controversial 10,000 jobs offered by the immediate past government of Chief Ikedi Ohakim, adding that 750 have been certified to be employed soon in the education sector.
Prof. Obasi also announced that the state government has approved the construction of classroom blocks in each of the 305 Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)wards spread in the 27 local councils areas of imo state, also announcing that the building and reconstruction of the school will be completed within 18 months.
She also went further to ask all parents who had previously withdrew their children from school for lack of funds to foot their school bills to bring them back to their different schools as the state government has long introduced free education in public primary and secondary school sector.
